RCLC President’s Message
Dear Friends and Supporters of the Redwood Coast Land Conservancy,
I want to welcome Dave Shpak, our new part time Mill Bend Project Manager, and give a huge thank you to board member Kathleen Chasey for the tremendous work she has done as our volunteer manager for the acquisition of Mill Bend. Kathleen will continue to use her talents to help RCLC, as we explore the next phase of planning for Mill Bend under Dave’s expert guidance.
As we welcome the new year, we have so much to look forward to and so many people to thank for all we’ve accomplished. I’d especially like to thank Laurie Mueller, our past President and inspired leader for many years who is stepping down from our board but will continue her volunteer work for RCLC.
Our land trust volunteers and Board of Directors are encouraged by the generosity of our donors and supporters both for Mill Bend and the Redwood Coast Land Conservancy’s conservation work in perpetuity.
We are here for the long term. The permanent protection and planning for Mill Bend’s future as a community park is just the start! As we plan for improved public access and trails and habitat restoration on Mill Bend, we are also planning for new coastal access acquisitions and exciting environmental education and cultural outreach programs. We want to protect the land and water of the Mendonoma coast and watersheds, and most importantly, we want to celebrate our community’s past and future involvement with these properties, starting with Mill Bend.
Join us for the Mill Bend Planning Forum in the Spring of 2021 and look for other updates on the RCLC web site as we work with all of you to Protect the Land, Restore the River and Sustain our Community!
Thank you and here’s to a very happy New Year!
Tina Batt
