Social distancing and masks– the new normal
To all users of RCLC public access properties–
Parks and public access spaces have become more important than ever during these times, as people seek outdoor recreation to maintain physical and emotional health during the pandemic.
Redwood Coast Land Conservancy (RCLC) is following California and county guidelines for public safety on our properties.
To keep these spaces safe for all, please protect yourself and others from exposure to COVID-19. Stay home if you are not feeling well. When outside, have a mask or facial covering on your person and cover your mouth and nose when near other people. Always maintain a distance of 6 feet or more from people outside your household.
No picnics or large gatherings are permitted. Our properties are day use only– no camping.
The East Bay Regional Park District recently published the following statements, a good reminder for all of us:
“It’s evident that COVID-19 has changed – at least in the short term – the way we collectively recreate, exercise, spend time with family, and explore the natural world.
Just a few months ago, being a thoughtful park visitor meant parking properly, bringing water, and picking up after our pets. Today, it includes all the above plus bringing a mask, hand sanitizer, and being ready to step aside on narrow trails and at busy trailheads. For runners and bikers, it also means keeping an even greater distance as strenuous exercise can cause more forceful expulsion of airborne particles.”
